Winter is the season in which people
try to keep the house
as warm as it was in the summer,
when they complained about the heat.

The dogs found a snow fort under the bushes.

Summer toys spray painted with snow.

Awww...poor doggie has ice stuck between her toes.

Our power was out for two days.  They brought crews
in from Ohio to help.  Apparently, our yard
was the source of their problems {and ours}....

...they discovered a large tree down in the woods.
So they had to call in the tree experts to
remove it.

Meanwhile, we cooked our dinner on the grill
and ate by candlelight {for the second
night}.

The next day I took a ride to see
how others were managing without electricity.

Lo sifted through the winds that blow,
down comes the soft and silent snow.
White petals from the flowers that grow
in the cold atmosphere.

“It's snowing still," said Eeyore gloomily.
"So it is." "And freezing."
"Is it?"
"Yes," said Eeyore.
"However," he said,
brightening up a little,
"we haven't had an earthquake lately.”

A snowy day is the perfect time
for walking in the woods...
